What relevance between chess and mathematics? |
Lisa, chess mentor, Ohio. |
When you learn chess at very high level, it will give you great improve in mathematics skills. I mean high level here is the chess player can play chess without looking at chess pieces and chessboard. It called blindfold, play with eyes covered by cloth. Almost all my students who archived this high level in chess have excellence scores in mathematics tests or mathematics exams. When chess player can play blindfold chess, of course they have good visualization and good short term memory to remember all chess pieces which change every time their positions and their numbers. This excellences visualization and good short term memory will give big help to improve mathematics skill. |
